The Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen on Tuesday claimed to have attacked the international airport in Tel Aviv as well as targets in Jerusalem. Houthi military spokesman Yehya Saree said in a televised statement that Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport and an electricity plant in the Jerusalem area had been attacked with ballistic missiles.

Wizz Air is offering cheap flights from Tel Aviv to various destinations from January 15, including London, Abu Dhabi, Rome, Milan, and Athens.

A missile fired from Yemen hit Tel Aviv overnight into Saturday, Israeli authorities said, in a rare instance of a failed interception over the city.

The rebels said that they first targeted the Ben Gurion airport with Palestine 2 ballistic missile and then a power station near Jerusalem with Zulfiqar ballistic missile.
