A new report has shed some light on the creative behind the AEW takeover angle involving Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.

On screen, that meant Moxley’s new even-rougher-around-the-edges character and his new Death Riders faction of Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir are trying to forcibly hold the company hostage until someone can step up and take it back from them.

Jon Moxley says everything that has happened in AEW so far doesn’t matter, as a “hard set” has begun. Moxley returned to AEW in August after a brief absence. Since then, he has formed a new faction, and he has captured the AEW World Championship again.

Jon Moxley has been the WWE Champion, the AEW World Champion, the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, has wrestled Brock Lesnar, and been slammed through glass windows, but all of that pales in comparison to what he's doing now in AEW.

Jon Moxley is leading a revolution within AEW. His Death Riders faction is laying waste to all that stands before them. Orange Cassidy, Daniel Garcia and Darby Allin are leading the small regime trying to stop his attack from within.
