Nicole Kidman has a list of directors she’d love to work with, and Martin Scorsese is one of them. There’s just one problem. Speaking to Vanity Fair in a Q&A published on Wednesday3, Kidman, 57, threw some shade Scorsese’s way for his history of writing films centered entirely on male characters.

The famed director has done a few films in which the story revolves around a female lead, including 1977’s “New York, New York,” starring Liza Minnelli, and the 1974 film “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore,” which won its star, Ellen Burstyn, a best actress Academy Award. The bulk of his movies, however, have been led by male actors.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Nicole Kidman was asked if there were any directors she'd love to work with that she hadn't worked with already. The actress listed several names, including Paul Thomas Anderson,
