One Grey Sloan Memorial surgeon is scrubbing out. Jake Borelli is leaving Grey’s Anatomy after six seasons as Dr. Levi Schmitt, Grey Sloan Memorial’s lovable resident and one of the ABC medical drama’s most historic characters.

"I would then be forced to talk about something that, at that point in my life, I wasn’t ready to talk about on the global level, which you can never be prepared for," the actor said.

"It was the hardest, most stressful, scary thing I've ever done in my entire life. And I'm so glad that I did it, and I'm so glad that we got to tell this story of Levi."
