A family is desperate to find their loved one after he went missing on Sunday. Kim Whitehurst, 69, of Winston-Salem, has been reported as a high-risk missing person, His family says this is because he is in the early stages of what they believe to be dementia.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man is critically injured after being shot by police at a home in Winston-Salem. On Saturday around 11:10 p.m., police said they were called to a home on Zacharys Keep Court for a disturbance involving a weapon. The caller said that a man inside the home was armed with a knife and threatening others.

Winston-Salem police are investigating an officer-involved shooting. Police said the shooting occurred early Sunday morning. There’s a heavy police presence in the 3000 block area of Zachary's Keep Court in Winston-Salem.
