Sam Fender has announced his third studio album, People Watching, and shared its title song. The English rock artist co-produced his new song with one of his favorite working artists, the War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel.

The long wait is over: Sam Fender has shared his first taste of new music in two years with comeback single “People Watching.” The song is the first to be released from his third album People Watching, which he announced earlier this week will drop on Feb. 21 via Polydor Records.

Sam Fender produced the album alongside bandmates Dean Thompson and Joe Atkinson over two years, working firstly in London in 2023 with producer Markus Dravs, and then earlier this year in Los Angeles with The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel.

To introduce the new record, Fender shares its title track, which was produced in Los Angeles alongside The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel. The song was written for his late friend and mentor, Annie Orwin, and is based on Fender’s thoughts as he travelled to and from her palliative care home.

Sam Fender has confirmed details of this third album, People Watching. Ahead of the announcement today, the album had already been available to pre-order, while the upcoming People Watching arena tour had offered a clue to the title of the LP.
